This policy explains what personal data GhanaSpots collects, why, and your rights under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). The data controller is the operator of GhanaSpots, whom you can reach at admin@ghanaspots.com.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and/or mobile number, your password (stored encrypted, we cannot read it), and when you accepted these terms.
- Orders: the place, items, notes you add, pickup time, status, the messages you exchange with the place, and your pickup code.
- Wallet: your balance and the payments and refunds on it.
- If you manage a place: your name and contact details, and the information you publish about your place.
- Order alerts, if you turn them on: the address your browser gives us to send you notifications.
- Technical data: basic information about your browser and device, and anonymous visit statistics.
Why we use it
- To run your account and your orders, and to let the place you order from prepare it and reach you.
- To tell you about your order by email or notification, as you choose in “My account”.
- To prevent fraud and keep the service secure.
- To keep the accounting records the law requires.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- The place you order from: your name, mobile number, the order and your messages about it.
- Our service providers, only to run GhanaSpots: Supabase (database and login), Vercel (hosting and anonymous statistics), Resend (emails), and, if you turn order alerts on, your browser’s notification service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft). Their servers are in the European Union and the United States.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove your name, email, mobile number and order messages; the amounts and items of past orders are kept without your details, for as long as the law requires accounting records to be kept.
Your rights
You can see and correct your details in “My account”, and delete your account there. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or object to how it is used, by writing to admin@ghanaspots.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can contact Ghana’s Data Protection Commission.
Children
GhanaSpots is not meant for children under 13. Alcohol is only sold to people aged 18 or over.
